I just wanted to post this article that I saw the other day on the topic of becoming pregnant after stopping The Pill.
Key points:
^ It can take several months (in upwards of 6-9 months) to start cycling normally again.
^ It can take several months to rid the body of the synthetic hormones of birth control pills _ which can negatively impact implantation success, and longer if you fall into one of the following four categories:
~ You've been on the pill for ten or more years
~ You went on the pill in your teens, or very soon after having your first period
~ You had irregular or problematic menstrual cycles before you went on the pill
~ You have other known health issues or reason to believe you might have health issues that could impact your fertility
Their advice is to plan ahead to wait out the year to resume normal cycling and to rid the body of any lingering chemicals.
What do you think? Is this too conservative?
