I just started charting a few months ago, and when I started I was just finishing birth control (nuvaring). My first cycle off BC was so normal, I was shocked! I could see exactly when I was ovulating. Since we were planning to start trying in my May/June cycle and I went off BC in April, we were sort of careful in May. We're both so eager to have another baby, after losing our first son to stillbirth in September 2010, so we just didn't care if I "accidentally" got pregnant early. My next cycle came early (a few days) and it was short and somewhat light for me. My current chart is such a confusing mess! I thought I was having a temperature spike around day 12, which matched last month, but then it dropped for two days, spiked again, and has been consistently low since. I don't know what to think, and I keep wondering if I'm somehow pregnant. I know it's kind of ridiculous, but I'm mostly worried because I had a few glasses of wine during my period. Has anyone else had this problem?

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry about your baby...incredibly sorry :( and I completely understand the 'not caring' about an oops pregnancy.
The wonkiness of your cycle is probably due to a hangover from the hormonal birth control and most likely isn't due to a pregnancy. I know that you had a nice, normal cycle right out of the gate but...odds are there's still some that hormone knocking around your system - hence the non-pattern that you describe (temperature up and then down and then up and then down...).
The silver lining: I think it's very likely that you have not ovulated yet this cycle or you WOULD see a clear and sustained temperature shift (one that wouldn't go down). This means that if you watch your cervical fluid...pay attention to vaginal sensation when you use the bathroom (do you feel 'dry'...do you feel 'lubricated' or 'slippery') and any other signs (such as cervical position, etc) for clues thay you're about to ovulate than you still have a chance to catch that egg.
Now, with that said - and not to be a downer but rather to give you all the info - there is the possiblity that you'll have an ANovulatory cycle (no ovulation). You would keep seeing this non-pattern until the end of the cycle and then get your period. I'm only saying this is a possibility - not a probability.
So, chin up! And many blessings to you!
